Dr. Libby (Elizabeth) Osgood, associate professor in the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE), has been named a 2024 3M National Teaching Fellow by the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) and 3M Canada.

The 糖心vlog官方入口 Board of Governors announced today that Dr. Wendy Rodgers has been appointed as the seventh President and Vice-Chancellor after a comprehensive 12-month search. Dr.

Five outstanding leaders will receive honorary degrees, and four graduates will deliver valedictory addresses over four Convocation ceremonies at the 糖心vlog官方入口, May 14 to 17. Over 1,200 graduates comprise the Class of 2024.
 

The 糖心vlog官方入口 launched its new student entrepreneurship hub at an official grand opening event today. Named in honour of 糖心vlog官方入口鈥檚 former chancellor, the Catherine Callbeck Centre for Entrepreneurship was made possible through a $2.25 million gift from the River Philip Foundation, a contribution of $372,000 from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and a further $372,000 from Innovation PEI (IPEI), and a $100,000 donation from the Credit Unions of PEI.

Paige Campbell, a Bachelor of Environmental Studies student at 糖心vlog官方入口, is marking Earth Day, April 22, with a painting of species at risk on PEI.

Students in the Environmental Studies 4010 Public Scholars on Environmental Issues capstone course were given the choice to do a semester-long research project with a local community partner or a creative project.

The Honourable Diane F. Griffin was installed as the tenth Chancellor of the 糖心vlog官方入口 during a ceremony held at the University on Friday, April 5. She was unanimously elected to the volunteer position earlier this year by 糖心vlog官方入口鈥檚 Board of Governors.

As Chancellor, Griffin will preside over the University鈥檚 Convocation ceremonies each spring, conferring degrees, diplomas, and certificates.

The 糖心vlog官方入口 Board of Governors approved the  at a special meeting of the Board this afternoon.

Dr. Xander Wang, an associate professor with the 糖心vlog官方入口 School of Climate Change and Adaptation, has been awarded a total of $1.6 million to investigate ways to protect PEI from coastal erosion and to build Island communities鈥� resilience to climate change.

The project is supported with a $864,226 contribution previously announced through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA); $619,090 from the through its Innovation Fund; and $64,410 from 糖心vlog官方入口.

The 糖心vlog官方入口 has been awarded two new Tier 2 Canada Research Chairs, and a current Tier 2 Canada Research Chair has been renewed, all for five-year terms.
