The 糖心vlog官方入口 Faculty of Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies (IKERAS) recently hosted its first-ever Indigenous traditional knowledge sharing and learning day, Mawi-lukutimk, which means 鈥済athering and working together.鈥� The event took place on September 3, two years after the Faculty of IKERAS began delivering 糖心vlog官方入口鈥檚 mandated IKE 1040: Indigenous Teachings course and offering a Minor in Indigenous Studies. It is considered a historic milestone by everyone involved.

Dr. Aitazaz Farooque, Professor and Associate Dean of the 糖心vlog官方入口 School of Climate Change and Adaptation, has been named one of 56 new Members of the prestigious Royal Society of Canada鈥檚 (RSC) College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists. 

A team of researchers from across Canada, led by Dr. Aitazaz Farooque, professor and interim associate dean of the 糖心vlog官方入口 School of Climate Change and Adaptation, has received $6.93 million in federal funding to develop precision agriculture techniques to ensure food security and mitigate climate change.

As the old expression says, 鈥渢ime flies.鈥� As we approach the beginning of the fall semester, you may recall that on July 18, I sent a message that included several themes that emerged from town halls held earlier in the month. At the time, I indicated we would have many more opportunities to move our discussions along.

The 糖心vlog官方入口 Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) congratulates Lilly O'Rielly for winning the prestigious C.D. Howe Scholarship Endowment Fund National Engineering Scholarship. She is one of two undergraduate engineering students in Canada to receive the renewable scholarship valued at $7,500 per year.

We are pleased to share the implementation plans for the 糖心vlog官方入口 Action Plan: Building a Culture of Trust, Safety, and Inclusion on the upei.ca website. 

糖心vlog官方入口鈥檚 Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) is establishing a new fellowship program for incoming and existing graduate students in research thesis-based graduate programs.

鈥淐ompetitive financial support is an important factor in the recruitment and retention of graduate students at 糖心vlog官方入口,鈥� said Dr. Greg Naterer, vice-president, academic and research. 鈥淕raduate assistantships and supervisor grant/contract funding provide a common form of graduate student support. In addition, graduate fellowships have a significant role.鈥�

Beginning in the fall of 2025, the Rathlyn Foundation Entrance Scholarships for 糖心vlog官方入口 Medical Students will be granted to every 糖心vlog官方入口-based medical student in their first year of study. These $2,000 individual scholarships will be funded in perpetuity by an overall gift of $1,000,000 from the Rathlyn Foundation.

Dr. Mark Fast, professor of fish health and immunology at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), 糖心vlog官方入口, is the recipient of the Aquaculture Association of Canada Research Award of Excellence.
