ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú celebrates the achievements of faculty and staff

Members of the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú community filled the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Performing Arts Centre amphitheatre on May 29, 2025, to celebrate the achievements of their colleagues. During the event, the University Awards of Excellence and 25-Year Service Awards were presented to faculty, librarians, clinical veterinary professionals, clinical nursing instructors, sessional instructors, and staff members.

ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Board of Governors approves balanced student-centric budget

On May 27, 2025, the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Board of Governors approved a balanced for the 2025–2026 fiscal year, despite a challenging financial environment primarily caused by federal immigration policy changes. The operating budget is just under $202.9 million, representing an increase of $20.4 million or 11.2 per cent over the previous fiscal year.

Four outstanding leaders to be honoured during ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Convocation 2025

The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú will honour four outstanding leaders with honorary degrees during Convocation 2025, which will take place from May 13 to 16. Over 1,200 students are set to graduate over four ceremonies, which start at 10:00 am each day at the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre.

ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Statement: Artist presentation

ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú offered Mr. Christopher Griffin the opportunity to participate in a panel discussion to be developed thoughtfully and including other voices on the topic of free expression. 

On April 15, upon learning of a planned meeting on April 16, Mr. Griffin requested to be heard at that meeting. In response, the University accepted that request and scheduled a time for his presentation in the Performing Arts Centre Amphitheatre, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on April 16.

Lauren Rainford and Kamari Scott named ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Athletes of the Year

ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú’s Department of Athletics and Recreation celebrated the 2024–25 season at the annual ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Panther Celebration – Athletic Awards Gala on Friday, March 28, recognizing outstanding student-athletes who have excelled in sport, the classroom, and the community.

This year, the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Alumni Association’s Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year award went to Lauren Rainford, ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Women’s Basketball. The Male Athlete of the Year winner was Kamari Scott, ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Men’s Basketball.
