IslandRISE Inclusive STEM Community Building Workshop
The IslandRISE initiative aims to create a group, centered at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú but with reach into the Island community, with a focus on building a STEM community that actively embraces scientists and engineers of all identities, and provides opportunities to learn from and with members of communities including BIPOC, 2SLGBTQ+, and people with disabilities and accessibility needs.
In-Person Vision Presentation by Finalist Candidate "A" for Vice-President, People and Culture
The Advisory Selection Committee invites members of the campus community to an in-person vision presentation by Finalist Candidate A for the Vice-President, People and Culture (VPPC) position. (Finalist Candidate B will present on January 16.)
Since the search process began in Fall 2024, the committee has undertaken a comprehensive search. These excellent finalist candidates are investing their time and are willing to join the campus community for an in-person vision presentation as well as several small-group meetings (by invitation only).
President's Town Hall: Strategic Plan, 2025–2030—Update and Input
President Rodgers will hold the first in a series of Town Halls during the 2025 winter semester on January 15. The Town Hall will include an update on the development of our strategic plan: where we are in the process, what we have heard, and the themes that have emerged during various consultation sessions. Members of the community will be able to provide further input during the town hall or through the questionnaire found at /president/strategic-planning

The IslandRISE Inclusive STEM Community Building Workshop aims to investigate the current state of EDI within the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú STEM community and engage participants in a collaborative process to define needs and next steps.

What brought you to ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú? Why did you choose to study here?
Alex: We are both from the Island! I'm from New Haven, and Rowan is from Cornwall. As someone from the province, attending ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú made the most sense financially for me. However, the ultimate deciding factor for me was my desire to study abroad, which I feel wouldn't have been possible at another university.
ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú faculty member receives international Charles S. Falkenberg Award
Dr. Xander Wang, a professor in ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú’s Applied Climate Change and Adaptation program and director of the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Climate Smart Lab, has been awarded the prestigious American Geophysical Union’s (AGU) for his outstanding contributions to the advancement of geospatial data visualization technology to increase public awareness of climate change.
ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú psychology students promote pathways to peace to the campus community
Students in Dr. Stacey MacKinnon’s fourth-year Psychology of Good and Evil class wrapped up their fall semester by hosting a ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Pathways to Peace Day in late November in the W.A. Murphy Student Centre.

The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú held its 23rd Recognition of Founders ceremony on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, in the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Performing Arts Centre and Residence building.
This award acknowledges those who have contributed to the University in a significant way and to honour the many contributions, commitments, and sacrifices that have brought higher education in PEI to where it is today.
