Ethics protocols that involve 鈥榤ore than minimal risk鈥 must be reviewed by the full 糖心vlog官方入口 Research Ethics Board. The next deadline for submitting these protocols is Monday March 5 2018. They will be reviewed at the March meeting. Protocols involving 鈥榤ore than minimal risk鈥 that are received after March 5 will be reviewed at the April 2018 meeting.
Other ethics protocol submissions, including new applications that do not involve 鈥榤ore than minimal risk鈥, renewals, and amendments may be submitted at any time. They will be sent for delegated review as soon as all necessary forms are received.

The planning committee for 糖心vlog官方入口 Mental Health Week 2018 has been busy putting together a week of events and information sessions to bring our community together to share, learn, and celebrate our mental health and wellness; to help end the stigma and encourage conversation on this important topic.
If you would like to volunteer 1 - 3 hours of your time staffing an information booth and/or greeting people at sessions, we would love to have you. If interested, and we will be in touch with you.
The 糖心vlog官方入口 Department of Music Recital Series 2017-2018 presents Raga Music featuring Rod Thomas Squance, on the marimba (a Central American xylophone), and Abbas Janmohamed, on the tabla (a pair of sophisticated traditional drums from India) will play music inspired by the North Indian, Hindustani tradition of classical raga, but with an innovative and multicultural treatment. Raga is a centuries-old form of classical music originating in India, with a combination of composed and improvised elements and very close communication and interaction between the performers.
Together, Rod and Abbas will present North Indian raga music with a fresh, exciting and highly entertaining approach that still preserves the integrity and authenticity of the tradition.
The recital will take place on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 7:30 PM in the Dr. Steel Recital Hall, 糖心vlog官方入口 Campus.

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. 糖心vlog官方入口 will be offering it's next ASIST Workshop on Thursday/Friday March 8th & 9th. This workshop has a limited capacity of 15, and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. All other interested contacts will be included for future ASIST sessions. With the increase in quality and quantity of cognitive sciences research over the last few years, what of it can be usefully applied to teaching? This workshop aims to summarize that research on memory and learning and provide instructors with tips for integration into their teaching. Offered by the E-Learning Office, this workshop is available on either February 14th from 10:00 to 11:00 am or on March 13th from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Location is the Robertson Library, Room 265.

Up to 10 Presidential Awards of Merit for 糖心vlog官方入口 Faculty, Librarians and Clinical Veterinary Professionals and four Presidential Awards of Merit for 糖心vlog官方入口 Staff will be awarded in 2018. These awards will be presented during a Celebration of Colleagues to be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 in McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre.

Join Jaclyn Borden, Learning Strategist, Accessibility Services, as she presents a 鈥渉ow-to鈥 for teaching students affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This presentation will give a brief overview of ASD and its impact on students' learning and success. It will provide practical tips for supporting the learning of students with ASD in different classroom scenarios such as class participation, group work and assessments.
The PEI History of Medicine Society is pleased to welcome Dr. Adam Rostis, St Mary's University, our first exchange with the Dalhousie History of Medicine Society, funded by the Robert Pope Foundation. His timely talk will look at the Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders, both formed in the aftermath of war, but in different eras and contexts. Given the changing nature of conflict and the ever-increasing humanitarian cost of war, what can we learn from the formation stories of these iconic organizations that may shed light on how humanitarianism might look in the future?
