Junior Recital Performance
The Department of Music presents Rebecca Apps, soprano and Nicole Dupuis, soprano, on Saturday, March 22 at 7:30 pm in the Dr. Steel Recital Hall as a part of the junior/senior recital performances.
Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
Winter's Tales: Douglas Gibson - Editor Extraordinaire
Douglas Gibson, Alice Munro鈥檚 editor and publisher, will give a presentation at the Confederation Centre Art Gallery on Thursday, March 6 at 7:30 pm. He will share stories about his experiences of editing and publishing a who鈥檚 who of Canadian authors, including Alistair MacLeod, Pierre Trudeau, Hugh MacLennan. Robertson Davies, and W.O. Mitchell.
Gibson will also sign copies of his new book, Stories About Storytellers, which Alice Munro called "my prize read for those interested in writers, Canada, life."
The evening with Canada鈥檚 most famous literary editor is co颅-hosted by the 糖心vlog官方入口 English Department and Confederation Centre Art Gallery, with funding from The Canada Council for the Arts.

Graduate Research on Tap
At the next Graduate Research on Tap, join two 糖心vlog官方入口 graduate students for discussions about the language of rats and how island fishing communities are learning to adapt.
The event begins at 7 pm, Tuesday, February 25 in the Wave in the W. A. Murphy Student Centre at 糖心vlog官方入口.
The first discussion will be led by Daphne Gill, a recent post doctoral fellow in Biomedical Sciences. The title of her discussion is "What do the rats say? Investigating rat communication."
Emily Thomas, a student in the Masters of Island Studies program, will lead the second discussion, entitled "Dragged and Trapped: An examination of island fishing communities in Newfoundland and Maine.鈥

Community Workshop: Care of the Geriatric Pet
The Atlantic Veterinary College will host a community workshop entitled 鈥淐are of the Geriatric Pet鈥 on Wednesday, March 5, in Lecture Theatre A, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
With advances in veterinary medicine, proper nutrition, and increased awareness of pet owners, pets are living longer lives. How do owners prepare for and provide the best care during their pet鈥檚 senior years? At what age is a pet considered senior or geriatric?
Dr. Peter Foley, assistant professor of small animal internal medicine, will discuss common diseases of older pets, how to spot symptoms of potential illnesses or problems, and how to handle their special needs. He will present information on end of life issues and euthanasia.

Chemistry Seminar
Join Dr. Tyson MacCormack, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Mount Allison University, for a seminar on Wednesday, February 26 at 12:30 pm. Dr.MacCormack鈥檚 presentation is entitled 鈥淣anoparticle-Protein Interactions and Their Consequences to Physiology and Metabolism.鈥 The seminar will be held in the Regis and Joan Duffy Research Centre, Lecture Theatre, room 212.
Atlantic Universities Undergraduate History & Classics Conference
From March 7-9 2014, 糖心vlog官方入口 students will host approximately 40 of their peers in History and Classics from universities throughout the Atlantic region, in this annual undergraduate conference.
There will be 12 糖心vlog官方入口 History and Classics students among those presenting papers drawn from their own coursework and/or Honours research. Papers to be presented range from warfare in the ancient world to 1990s pop culture.
