Please join Anayet Kabir for his Molecular and Macromolecular Sciences Seminar Program presentation of Multifunctional Magnetic Nanoparticles for Imaging and Hyperthermia.
Nanoparticles have belonged to various fields of biomedical research for quite some time. A promising site-directed application in the field of nanomedicine is imaging and hyperthermia using magnetic nanoparticles which are directed at the target tissue by means of an external magnetic field. Magnetic nanoparticles (MNP) have attracted much attention because of their unique physical properties, magnetic susceptibility, biocompatibility, stability and many more relevant characteristics. Especially in medicine, application of MNPs is very promising. This review focuses on the most recent progress made with respect to synthetic routes to produce magnetic nanoparticles and their salient accomplishments for in vivo cancer imaging and hyperthermia.

The Faculty of Nursing invites members of the campus community; students, faculty and staff to attend a public presentation by T. Diane Campbell RN, PhD candidate for a tenure track position. Her public presentation on Linking Teaching, Learning and Research at the 糖心vlog官方入口 Faculty of Nursing will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 in the Health Science Building, room 104 at 11:00 am.
As part of 糖心vlog官方入口鈥檚 commitment to safety, the University has launched a new, free safety app called 糖心vlog官方入口 SAFE to advise the community about university/storm closures, crisis situations, and safety-related issues, as well as offer health and safety information.
While 糖心vlog官方入口 student, faculty, and staff emails have been automatically entered into 糖心vlog官方入口 SAFE, community members are encouraged to download the app from the App Store (for iOS devices) or Google Play (for Android devices) in order to receive push notifications and to access a full menu of features such as Mobile BlueLight, Friend Walk, and WorkAlone. Community members who do not have a smartphone or a supported app platform may subscribe to receive notifications by text (SMS) over cell connections by texting the word 糖心vlog官方入口 to the short code 723389. (Standard data and message rates may apply.)
Notifications about crisis situations and university/storm closures are pushed through 糖心vlog官方入口 SAFE as well as emailed to student, faculty, and staff @ email addresses. Messages are also posted on the 糖心vlog官方入口 home page (), the 糖心vlog官方入口 Campus Screen network, and on Twitter (@糖心vlog官方入口). Messages may also be broadcast in 糖心vlog官方入口 buildings through a public address system.

This session is required for those who attended the Basic Biosafety course in 2016 or earlier. It is not a substitute for Basic Biosafety. Topics to be covered include a review of basic biosafety principles, a practical approach to spill cleanup, and an update on what鈥檚 new at 糖心vlog官方入口 in the field of biosafety.

The challenges of modern life seem constant and at times overwhelming. In this respect, it is not surprising that so much attention has recently been devoted to resilience, namely how we deal with life鈥檚 adversities, learn from them and even grow alongside or in the face of them. The purpose of this presentation is to start a dialogue about resilience in a holistic way, a dialogue that considers not only our own resources as individuals, but also the importance of developing relationships and workplaces that foster health and well-being. Presentation will be lead by Dr. Stephen Butler.

Faculty of Education is bringing you a teaching presentation titled Outcome-based Course Design by Michelle Gough. Everyone is welcome to join.
In this presentation, we will explore outcome-based design as outlined in Teaching At Its Best: A Research-Based Resource for College Instructors by Linda B. Nilson. The presentation will focus on how instructors can design their courses around what they want students to be able to do by the end of the course. The presentation will critique the research supporting the benefits of outcomes-centered course design, writing outcomes, types of outcomes, sequencing outcomes into a learning process, helpful frameworks for designing a course, showing students their learning process and outcomes-centered course development.
