The 糖心vlog官方入口 Wind Symphony, under the direction of Dr. Karem J. Simon, will perform on Sunday, January 27 at 3:00 PM in the Homburg Theatre at The Confederation Center of the Arts. This special performance is done collaboratively with the PEI Intermediate Honors Band.

Neuromuscular neurologist and author of The Spiritual Doorway in the Brain: A Neurologist鈥檚 Search for the God Experience, Dr. Kevin Nelson will be on campus on January 28 and will present 鈥淚n the Borderlands of consciousness: spirituality arising from the brain in crisis.鈥� He is the director of medical affairs, assistant dean for clinical affairs, and professor of neurology at the University of Kentucky located in Lexington. Nelson has a PEI connection as he鈥檚 married to Rustico native, Dr. Anne Steele (nee Gallant). Nelson will discuss the remarkable phenomena of near-death experiences and life-altering events, and how the brain is working during these moments. The lecture is free and all are welcome to attend. This lecture is hosted by the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science with assistance from the departments of psychology, philosophy, and religious studies.

Ticket prices: Student $8 General $10 VIP $15 (on deck seating and underwater video) All money raised from this event will go towards travel and training expenses as the team prepares for nationals which will be held February 9 and 10 in London Ontario.

The AVC Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association presents an "Animal Rescue Workshop" on Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 9:00 am - 2:30 pm. This hands-on workshop will provide participants with a basic understanding of the role of an animal rescue response team during a disaster. Featuring lectures from the Oceanographic Environmental Research Society and the Atlantic Veterinary College, and a simulated search exercise. Registration: $40.00 (lectures and exercise); $20.00 (lectures only) Student rate: $20.00 (lectures and exercises); $10.00 (lectures only) Deadline: Wednesday, January 30 Space for the exercise is limited. This talk will take place on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, 1:00-2:15 pm. After her talk, Sister Sue will be delighted to answer questions and engage in conversation. All members of the campus community are invited to attend and the talk is open to the public. The Vern Smitheram and Andy Robb Leadership Development Speakers Series is an initiative to engage students and the community in important conversations about the theory and practice of leadership.
