On Monday, April 24, 2017 Dr. Xiuquan Wang, candidate for Assistant Professor in Data Analytics at School of Mathematical and Computational Sciences, will deliver a presentation entitled Application of Big Data Analytics and Visualization for Regional Climate Projection and Impact Studies in MacDougall Hall, room 246, at 1:45 pm.
A research project at the 糖心vlog官方入口 is seeking volunteers for a study on the impact of consumption of blueberries on indicators of diabetes. The research team is seeking participants who are healthy, non-smoking, and age 21 to 65. Eligible participants will be compensated up to 200 dollars.
Those interested in participating are invited to attend a 30-minute information session in room 301 of 糖心vlog官方入口鈥檚 Health Sciences Building. Dates and times can be .

Girls in grades 7 to 9 are invited to a science retreat on Friday, April 28 from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm This 4th annual Girls Get WISE Science Retreat will give girls a hands-on experience in chemistry, physics, and engineering through fun workshops. Girls will also meet female role models who are working or studying in the science, engineering, and technology fields. These experiences will help girls make informed decisions about subject choices in their later school years.
Girls can before April 21. Space is limited. Cost is $10 which includes lunch.Women working in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) who are interested in participating in the lunch-time role model session can contact Megan Glover (mglover@upei.ca) for more information.

Charlottetown鈥檚 Mike Conway will speak about his book Home Plate, Blue Helmet at the next OpenPages event, Wednesday, April 26, at 7:00 pm in 糖心vlog官方入口鈥檚 Robertson Library. The public is warmly invited. Light refreshments will be served and Conway鈥檚 book will be available for sale and signing. OpenPages takes place in the new lounge on the main floor of the Robertson Library and features local authors discussing what inspired them, what they learned, what they want to share.
Conway grew up in Charlottetown鈥檚 historic north and east ends, in neighbourhoods full of colorful characters, hard-working families, and close-knit friendships. The stories in his book bring to life the joys and hardships, loyalties and eccentricities, and traditions and transformations he experienced growing up. Dr. Michael H. Davies (Ph.D. Civil Engineering, P.Eng.), Coldwater Consulting Ltd. will present a seminar entitled "PEI鈥檚 shorelines: The Challenges of Climate Change and Adaptation". The presentation will be on Friday, April 21 at 11:00 am in the Duffy Science Centre, room 204. Dr. Davies is applying to be an adjunct professor in Biology.
