The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) has asked 糖心vlog官方入口鈥檚 Research Services Office and 糖心vlog官方入口鈥檚 Sociology and Anthropology Department to promote the use of knowledge mobilization (KM) in research at 糖心vlog官方入口.

On March 21 and 22, Mr. Steve Jreige, Analyst, Public Health Capacity and Knowledge Management Division, Atlantic Region, PHAC, will be on campus. His areas of interest are (1) Seniors Health and Aging (2) the Built Environment, and (3) Emergency Preparedness and Response.

On March 21, 10 鈥 11am, Mr. Jreige will provide a campus presentation on KM in the 糖心vlog官方入口 Faculty Association Lounge, Main Building. He will speak about his role as a Knowledge Mobilization Analyst and how that fits within the PHAC, and discuss the KM program being implemented at PHAC.

On March 21 and 22, he will also MEET WITH any individuals or research teams who wish to:

1) Discuss knowledge mobilization and research findings, and how PHAC can help in the KM process
2) Learn about how KM can be built into a future research project, and how PHAC can help
3) Discuss emerging issues in the three fields of study to which he is assigned
4) Learn more about KM

Molecular and Macromolecular Sciences Seminar Program 鈥 Winter Semester 2018

Join us March 7 at 6:30 pm for a screening of the award winning film, "The Light of the Moon" directed by Jessica M. Thompson and starring Stephanie Beatriz. The trailer can be

The film stars Stephanie Beatriz as Bonnie, a woman who was sexually assaulted in New York City and covers a six week period following the assault and deals with the resulting impact on her and the changes in her relationships.

Entrance is by donation. Proceeds will go to the Anderson House and the Chief Mary Bernard Memorial Shelter.

After the film, there will be a moderated panel with various campus and community organization leaders to answer your questions and to lead a discussion on the topic of sexual assault. In collaboration with the Confederation Centre Public Library (CCPL) you now have more choice in what you read!

As of Monday, March 5 the 糖心vlog官方入口 community can check out current, popular reading materials from the POP-UP PUB.

Although the books come from CCPL, you will check them out and return them to the Service Desk in Robertson Library by using your 糖心vlog官方入口 Campus Card. Books can be borrowed for three weeks.

Each month there will be a new selection of approximately 50 books.

Availability has just opened for the upcoming ASIST Workshop, taking place tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday, March 8 & 9. This training is available free of charge for 糖心vlog官方入口's staff, students and faculty.

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety.

During his talk, Minister Fournier will address the topic, 鈥渂uilding the Canada of tomorrow, together ("Un dialogue pour b芒tir ensemble le Canada de demain"). Are you familiar with Open Educational Resources but want to learn more? Are you curious about the ways that you can self publish? The Robertson Library offers tools and software for students and faculty to help them write and publish their own research.

Join Meghan Landry and Kim Mears from the Robertson Library as they discuss self-publishing in the context of Open Educational Resources Week from March 5-9, 2018.

They will introduce faculty and students to Pressbooks, a software that allows users to upload or write their own material and publish it in a variety of accessible formats, such as a webbook, PDF (for print), PDF (for digital distribution), ePUB, MOBI, XML, and more. If online books are not your thing, the Library also has the capability of printing book material.
