Robertson Library Open Education Resource (OER) Development Program is seeking applicants for the OER Development Program Student Assistant position. The Library’s supports the creation, adaptation, and adoption of OERs throughout the university.

The successful applicant will be a student representative on a regional OER committee, as well as involved in the review and adjudication of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú OER grants. They will take an active role in developing a survey to collect data on the impact of OER use on students and promoting the survey. They will also help to review and update documents related to the program, and update webpages. This position will report to the One Health and Scholarly Communications Librarian.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Represent the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú student body by preparing for and participating in all Atlantic OER Committee meetings
  • Serve as a student representative of the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú OER Development Program grant adjudication committee
  • Co-develop a survey to collect opinions from undergraduate students on perceived benefits, and opinions of OER use in courses
  • Assist with the promotion and posting of the survey across campus
  • Review and update OER Development Program documentation under the supervision of the One Health and Scholarly Communications Librarian
  • Review and update OER Development Program webpages on the Library website under the supervision of the One Health and Scholarly Communications Librarian
  • Additional tasks to support the OER Development Program as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A self-motivated ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú student with a proven ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to evaluate, and provide thoughtful and constructive feedback
  • Knowledge of and experience with basic HTML and editing webpages, and confident in troubleshooting independently
  • Experience with online survey creation tools, knowledge of survey creation and data collection best practices
  • Experience with serving on committees/boards
  • Interest in Open Educational Resources and general knowledge in the topic as an asset

Priority will be given to ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
