The Department of Biology at the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú invites applications from individuals who are interested in instructing laboratories in the following Biology courses in the 2025-2026 Academic Year. All qualified candidates are welcome to apply; however, priority will be given to students enrolled in a ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Graduate program. 

Fall Courses:

Zoology (Bio 2040), Research Methods and Communications in Biology (Bio 3310), Intro Physiology of Cells and Organisms (Bio 3260)

Winter Courses:

Cell and Molecular Biology (Bio 2210), Marine Community Ecology (Bio 4650),

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Instructing and leading labs and/or tutorials, and marking exams and assignments
  • Proctoring in-lab quizzes and tests
  • Aiding with lab set up and tear down as required
  • Other duties as assigned by the course instructor or laboratory coordinator

The successful applicants will be required to participate on a weekly basis for their scheduled laboratory duties for the duration of the Fall and/or winter semesters

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú graduate student in good standing
  • Have completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology or a similar program that required a course with a laboratory component that is equivalent to the lab they want to instruct
  • Have good communication skills
  • Be WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) trained or be willing to take the training

This position is covered by a Collective Agreement between the Public Service Alliance of Canada and the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú. Priority will be given to ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú students.
