Dr. Greg Keefe, Dean of Veterinary Medicine at the Atlantic Veterinary College at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú, has been extended for a three-year term effective July 1, 2021.

Dr. Anne Marie Carey will assume the role of Associate Dean Academic and Student Affairs at the Atlantic Veterinary College, effective July 1, 2021.

Earlier this year, ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú faculty and librarians were invited to nominate colleagues for appointments to the rank of Professor Emeritus. The Professor Emeritus Evaluation Committee considered all nominees and forwarded its recommendations to the University Senate.

In a message sent to current and incoming students on June 11, Associate Vice-President of Students and Registrar Donna Sutton encouraged students to get vaccinated prior to the Fall Academic Semester.

The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Faculty Association celebrated the achievements of faculty members at an online event held in May of this year. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿ÚFA was not able to hold its annual faculty recognition events in-person for the 2020–2021 and 2019–2020 academic years.

ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú has named James Voye as the head coach of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Women’s Rugby. Voye is an award-winning veteran coach with experience at the high school, club, provincial, and national levels.

Dr. Marya Ahmed, an assistant professor of chemistry at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú, has been named one of 15 Emerging Scholars by the Canadian Cancer Society for her research to develop a dual-targeting strategy for the treatment of breast cancer.

Flags on the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú campus will be flown at half-mast until sunset on June 8 to honour and grieve the lives of the 215 First Nation children whose remains were found in unmarked graves at a former residential school in Kamloops, BC.
