糖心vlog官方入口 held its annual Celebration of Colleagues on May 29, 2025, to recognize the achievements of faculty, librarians, clinical veterinary professionals, clinical nursing instructors, sessional instructors, and staff members. 糖心vlog官方入口 Communications has been profiling the winners of the University Awards of Excellence in summer editions of the Campus Connector newsletter. This is the final profile in the series.

Jason Hogan, an instructional designer with the Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC), received the University Award for Exemplary Service. Since joining 糖心vlog官方入口 in 2014, Jason has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to the 糖心vlog官方入口 community. A trusted and knowledgeable guide for faculty and instructional staff across disciplines, he is recognized for his expertise with Moodle and his thoughtful integration of educational technologies and instructional best practices. His calm and collaborative approach has supported many faculty and staff members in navigating the complexities of course design and delivery in all modalities, especially when the University had to quickly pivot to remote teaching in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A champion of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Jason cultivates greater understanding of the benefits of UDL, thus improving the learning experience for students and instructors. He also regularly shares his insights through the TLC blog. His service extends well beyond the classroom: he has been a key contributor to institution-wide initiatives such as the Academic Integrity Working Group, the Online Learning Framework Working Group, and the Generative AI Taskforce. He is also a co-founder of the Teaching Community Conference, helping to foster interdisciplinary teaching excellence at 糖心vlog官方入口.

Whether assisting a lab instructor with a complex Moodle query or providing teaching and pedagogical support to instructors, Jason uses patience, technical skill, and an unwavering commitment to support teaching and learning. In addition to his university work, he also serves the broader community as a volunteer firefighter and first responder. His work is marked by thoughtfulness, humility, and a collaborative spirit that embodies the very essence of exemplary service.

Congratulations, Jason!
