ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Board of Governors welcomes new members

The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Board of Governors welcomes two new members for a three-year term: Bill Waterman and Dr. Gary Evans.
Waterman was elected by the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Senate to sit on the Board of Governors, effective November 24, 2023, for three years. He is one of two faculty members appointed by the Senate. Evans was the successful candidate to be elected from all the members of the teaching staff. He is one of two faculty members selected by the teaching staff to sit on the Board for three years, effective March 5, 2024.
Bill Waterman, MBA (Moncton), CPA, CMA, of Donaldston, PEI, is a Chartered Professional Accountant and has a Master of Business Administration from the Université de Moncton. He had over 25 years of experience working in industry and government before turning to academia. Currently, Waterman is an accounting professor for the Faculty of Business at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú. He also serves on several boards, including the Canada Foundation for Innovation, chairing both the investment committee and the audit and finance committee, and the Chartered Professional Accountants of Prince Edward Island, chairing the public practice and membership committee. 
Gary Evans, DipCS, BA, BComm, MBA (Windsor), PhD (Liverpool John Moores University), is a professor in the Faculty of Business at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú. Before embarking on an academic career, Evans was senior partner and CEO for KPMG Consulting for Central Eastern Europe and before that appointment was partner in charge of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and energy for the London, UK office of KPMG for tax, audit, and consulting. As a partner in a professional firm, Evans spent substantial time with corporate boards and the executive management of major international corporations. Of Maliseet heritage, Evans recently served as the interim dean of Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú.
The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Board of Governors consists of 26 members appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council, the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Board of Governors, and the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú Alumni Association, as well as the Senate, faculty, and student body of the University.
